There are 3 x10 mile TT circuits near me ( Time Trial ) all on public roads.

Went looking for the start line of the closest.
Found the white line Start point, and found the finish line.
Had a chop.

Then had another chop after raiding the parts bin and stripping the bike of anything not needed. Comfort comes second when trying to lash out a 10 miler TT.

Bike lost about 1.5kg second run lost about 2 minutes :) = winning.

Very nice Ace. There’s one local to me that I have my eye on. It’s that same color. Surly seems to love colors that are really difficult to photograph. In yours, it look a bit more green. Would you say the color is more mustard than piss?

More Mustard.
I do like calling it piss yellow, officially "drink more water yellow".

The frame is dipped before painting so it's a black coating inside and out. this black does show through around the dropouts and crown.
The old saying "you don't buy a Surly for the paintjob" rings true :)

I am bored of having black bikes, 50 shades of black etc etc. While not super bright this Mustard/piss/yellow does stand out quite well and i wasn't overly keen to start with but have warmed up to it. Was thinking about a respray but a few stickers and Orange coloured bits for extra gash points and i quite like it.

Ditching the Orange Easton grips going back to ODI Yeti lock ons, but quite liking the chop&flop pursuit bars which are going to get bright orange bartape soon :)

Anyone know if you can squeeze a set of Knards on one of these?

I miss my Creamroller and know you can always cram fatter rubber into a Surly than stated.
There's a user submitted photo on the steamroller page that shows it can be done but he had a straggler fork. Not sure if the stock fork has the clearance (don't have a steamroller) or if the stays need to be cold set. I think it's the most recent user photo.

Loving My New 'Roller + Stem Question

I love my newly-built Steamroller. I left the steerer tube at full length and have been playing around with bar and stem configurations to dial in the optimal fit and feel for me. I think I've hit upon the right combo, but I'm not loving the stack of spacers I have and the flat bars. With a little help from Lee McCormack's bite fit calculations, I have figured out how to achieve damn near the exact same set-up I currently have with a Nitto B082 riser bar. I'm excited about this for a number of reasons. The 50mm of rise will allow me to get my Wald basket a bit lower and the narrow, smaller 25.4 clamp diameter will allow the Wald clamps to sit more flush against the 22.2mm section of the bars for a more secure fit. They should also be a little more flexy than my current mountain bars, which I like.

My question for the forum is about aesthetics. I have some freedom to get the bars where I want them with a few different stems. I could go with a 0-degree rise stem and a 5mm spacer below, a negative rise stem and a 10mm spacer below or a positive rise stem and no spacer. Honestly, they're all going to be so close to the same fit as to be a non-issue for me. A little roll of the bars front or back will get me to a perfectly comfortable position.

I want to know what is generally considered stylish with riser bars? I like a dead-level stem on a bike with drop bars, and I'm inclined to do the same with risers. But is that kinda stupid? If the goal is to get the bars up a bit, is using a negative rise stem missing the point?

I know, "just looks, man, ride what you like and all that," but I am curious to know general consensus if the options are available. Thanks.
