I have a second data point on D5's on the back...it does not work. I tried it with my Whisky 70 rim and chip in the back position... no go. It clears the frame fine, but the side lugs rub the chain in the two biggest cogs.

Now could it be made to work by dishing the rim toward the non-drive side,a +3 spider and some crank spacers? Maybe

Not sure why my experience differs on this, but the 4.6" Wrathchild on a Bontrager Jackalope rim does not fit the back of my Voytek. Flipchip is in the rear-most position. The tire clears the frame-not by much-but the chain rubs the knobs and sidewall in several easier gears. I'm going to try the two other tires I have on hand, a 4" Cakeater and a 4.4" JumboJim, I'm sure one or both will fit ok. The Wrathchild/Jackalope combo will fit up front I'm sure.

The 4" Cake Eater will fit just fine. The 4.4 Jumbo Jim will rub, but still work alright. My buddy runs a 4.4 JJ on an 85mm HED. It rubs on the sidewall in the 42 cog. He doesn't use 42 that often, so rarely has an issue.

Interesting that the Wrathchild doesn't fit. I thought it was pretty narrow. It will definitely fit up front. You could fit on 2XL up there if you wanted.

That's strange. I just test rode an Otso and switched out my wheels which are Sarma 80mm rims with 4.6 Wrathchilds. No clearance issues in the rearmost chip position. I was also able to fit Dillinger 5's. Plenty of room at the chain in my case. The closest contact point was at the chain stays where there might've been 1/4" gap.

These Wrathchilds were new so I do wonder about casing stretch?

Update re: rear tire options.

I replaced the Wolf Tooth 2mm CAMO spider with the 3mm version, as well as removed a .5mm spacer from the non-drive side and added a 1mm spacer to the drive side of the crank arms.

No casing/chain rubbing at all now with a 4.6 Wazia on a 70mm Lythic.

I’m about to try a Dillinger 4.6 in the back and see if it fits...

Very interested and following this. My LBS has a L White Voytek I'm considering buying. It's a $4,300 build so a decision that's taking some time. That said with all the ice we've had around Minneapolis recently I had to (finally!) get studded tires now for my Specialized Fatboy and when I did, was told if I got the Dillinger 5's they'd fit the Voytek...

By the way, night and day in terms of safety and speed with how the D5's roll compared to (admittedly well used) non-studded Specialized Ground Controls...

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a Voytek frame. Anything I should know? Probably getting 80mm internal width 26" wheels unless someone can sell me on 27.5. I prefer lower BBs for stability.

Update: I just bought a D5 for the back and figured I would add a crank spacer and dish the wheel a bit. Turns out the D5 has changed from last year to this year. It went from an advertised 4.8" to 4.6". In reality they are 4.35" and 4.25" respectively mounted on Wisky 70s. The "4.6" barely rubs with no modifications. I think a 1mm crank spacer will do it. (this is on a 26" rim, chip in back position)

Update on the update, after 2 days and two rides, the new D5 is the same width as the old D5, 4.35". I still have clearance.

Thanks for the update on D5s. Mine is still being built up but I may have it this weekend. My rims are 75mm internal and I saw Tree Fort Bikes had Wrathlordes on sale, so I'm rolling in safety mode this year.

Tree Fort is where I got my D5. Great price and great service.

After my tire stretched out to 4.35" I added 1.5mm of crank spacer and had to give each spoke a 1/4 turn to dish the wheel to the non-drive side a bit.

My rims are only 65mm internal so you may have to dish a bit more if Wrathlords are true to size.

They fit the stays fine on 75mm internal rims. I get a tiny bit of chain rub on the biggest cog but that might be fixed by using a CAMO ring like I'm supposed to. Currently just using a reverse dished wolf tooth cinch chainring, which is a few mm closer than a CAMO
