Norco Revolver Rear Axle - Too Short?

Hi all, I'm working on a 2017 Revolver HT 9xx and just installed the rear wheel only to see that the thru axle is too short?
I have a 7X01 with the quick release axle, not the one in the pics, that is long enough both on the Revolver 27.5 and this 29er as well

Is that considered "normal"? It doesn't look safe for the threads in that rear triangle. Thanks

What happens if you remove that spacer from the second pic?

Thought about it but it's there to stay...doesn't come off unless I cut it? I'll take another look.

So it's a boost rear with a 142 axle, right?

Wrong axle...that's the axle they spec for their steel/gravel/road frames.

No, it is 142 rear with the 142 rear axle, definitely looks like it's too short for the job? I bought the frame like that...

It is too short for the job. Norco has two different thru-axle lengths for 142mm...they sent you the wrong one.

You have the wrong one. You need a Maxle. Check In the part number from Norco.
Usualy with the one you got the head is recess in .

And the Maxle is the lightest, I think the SRAM P/N is 00.4318.005.027

Maxle Stealth Rear Thru Axle: 12x142, 174mm, M12X1.75
