Can anyone provide feedback on this trail? Sorba West GA posts the status of it on their twitter but they don't have any info of the trail on their site. I see several people on Strava that ride it and it's about 15 min drive for me. Would hate to get lost riding it solo. Pun intended. Cheers.

I rode there today, for the first time. Being 20 minutes north of there, I should have tried it sooner. I found the main trail, Hawthorne, to be fairly easy and fun. The two loops Big Foot and Back Woods were far more challenging. Lots of tight twisties (which I love), a few creek crossings, some of which were tricky, and lots of roots (which I despise). The trail labeling is horrible. If you are not familiar with the layout from past experience, and are not looking at a map while you ride, there are quite a few places you will likely be scratching your head, figuring out which way to go.

I saw a sign posted there about a work party this weekend, with mention of fixing the trail labeling. That would be very nice.

When I get tired of Allatoona Creek, Rope Mill, Blankets and Mt Tabor, it's nice to have something different, close by. Especially since parts of it are so challenging to ride (at least to me).

Oh, and the woods there are really pretty (when you can't see the powerlines, nearby houses or junk in the several creeks).

Yeah, the last time I rode the signs weren't helpful. I hear good things about Clinton Preserve too which I've yet to ride.
Clinton Preserve is kind of different. None of the trails are very long, so you have to string them together and ride them multiple times. Some of it is on a huge granite, uh, can't remember what you call it, kind of a mini Stone Mountain, which is interesting. They allow horses there; saw a couple when I was there but they weren't really out in the woods. I've only been there once but I'll get back there someday.

I haven't ridden Lost Mountain. Thinking maybe I'll ride it, then drive to Mt Tabor (which I've only ridden once a long time ago) and then Sara Babb (also haven't ridden).

Yep - Clinton is different. All kinds of terrain there. Pretty fun trails. And they are never closed after a rain, like most other riding parks are. Be sure to check out the old cabins there, alongside one of the trails.

I will ride Lost Mtn again. I found one of the trails to be quite difficult (for me). I think it was Big Foot. Tricky creek crossings and a few pretty steep uphills with some very tricky turns. No way could I ride that trail at speed. But all the others there - I could.

I need to try Sara Babb. I have ridden Mt Tabor a lot, in the past. Nice "snowman" setup, so you can ride all 8 miles if you want, or easily cut it short. The only thing I don't like about that place is all of the roots, especially right after you make a sharp turn and face a steep uphill. Lots of rear wheel spinning over roots there. But the trails are otherwise very fun there. And very few riders - more hikers than riders.

Regarding signage, I am fine with zero signs. I can navigate. But I hate it when the trail labeling is contradictory or just plain wrong. I hate it when the trails don't match the map posted at the trailhead, which are very rarely updated. And I hate it when the trail blaze colors don't match the map. And I hate it when they add new trails, and you come to an intersection, and nothing is labeled. On the day a new trail is completed, there ought to be new signs posted. But I realize the trail makers are often dealing with self-serving red tape government bureaucrats, because of who owns the property, and getting things done through them must be a really futile effort.
