Lets discuss!. Anyone with experience with both? Would do you guys prefer? Which damper is the damper to buy for FOX forks?

I'm trying to decide on FIT4 150mm vs FIT GRIP 2 150mm. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this question. Would be great to have all 2019 damper discussion in on thread.

Is the GRIP 2 that much better?

The Grip 2 is more comparable to and replaces the previous RC2 as I understand it. It has independant HSC and LSC. I have the sameish question. Which is the better system between the 2018 RC2 and the 2019 Grip 2. I'm ready to buy.
Every year the magazine shrills say the new Fox stuff is better than last years but it isn't always true.

Agreed. But for trail bikes do you prefer having the the 3 switches...

I’d always go with the the independent HSC/LSC over preset fit 4. In my experience the RC2 damper has always been more plush than fit 4. Plus being able to t7ne your fork is always a plus. My guess is that the Grip 2 will be awesome!

Bringing this thread back up. Any more thoughts? Love my RC2 (2016) but doing more and more XC-ish trail rides and missing my old RCT3 with a firm and trail setting for fireroads and extended singletrack climbs.

Thinking of new boing stick this winter and so much to consider!! Fit4 looks interesting but like you guys, sure do love the independent adjustments of the RC2/GRIP2.....

It seems that besides the adjustability, most are missing the fact that the GRIP2 damper has way easier serviceability, you dont need vacuum pump... this is big deal for many..cheers...

I'm coming off the 2018 rc2 to the grip 2. I'm riding the push ACS. I find the grip 2 to be the best damper yet. I'm sort of in between springs so I choose to run the lighter of the 2. The only time I noticed any issues is in steep terrain it would go a little too deep in the travel. The grip 2 seems to prevent this. Also I like the rebound better, it feels more controlled in high speed. All in all The grip 2 with ACS is the best fork I've ever ridden.

Hey guys, Anyone running Fox 36 Factory 2018 HSC/LSC?
Is the rebound noise i get normal? LBS said it sounded normal. It doesnt have the cavitation sound that happens when you get air in the oil. Its not mechanical or harsh as some folks describe. Its a quick whoosh. More pronounced the faster i set my rebound.

Its fairly new, like 15hrs. I didnt have the sound when new. I dont have nearly the same sound on rebound on my Fox 34 Performance fork.

He said it is even more pronounced in the GRIP2 2019 forks. Is that your experience too?

Fork feels fine, its just noisy on quick rebounds. I can live with it if its "normal". Thanks!

I thought the exact same thing about the rebound whoosh noise on my '18 RC2. I was at the LBS and had to cycle another RC2 to prove to myself it is normal. 5 months later and I'm used to it now.

Coming from a Pike, the Fox RC2 is definitely whooshier. :)

From what I've seen, the noise comes from the air shaft. The easiest way to fix it is by adding some Slick Honey and lubing the air shaft. It will not make it silent, but definitely much quieter.

In my case, I ended up getting 2019 air shaft since I needed to change the travel, and now my fork is silent. The 2019 version of air shaft is different, and doesn't have that "whooshing" sound.

Mine still makes the whoosh noise and I have a Push ACS3 coil in it.

When I back off rebound all the way the noise gets much quieter.

From the airshaft (the left side?) not the damper side where all the rebound magic happens? Where would you apply grease on the air shaft side?

Would swapping out the 18 airshaft with the newer 2019 airshaft improve things?
I read fox swapped it out for a number of 2018s due to top out clunk, but I think that's a different and an actual "problem".
