Hey Kbw1, build is Wicklow Green CC frame with kashima DPX2 shock, Lyrik RCT3 fork 160mm, code rsc brakes (200/180mm rotors), dt swiss EX 511 rims on dt 370 hubs, RF SixC carbon bars, 50mm RF Atlas stem GX Eagle drivetrain but with X01 shifter (they say it shifts better), Rockshox 150mm dropper, Maxxis minion 2.5WT DHF up front & 2.5WT Aggressor rear, WTB Volt Pro saddle.
Looks like a very nice build. I've a frame on order, going for somewhat the same build, might go Hope Tech 3 E4 for brakes.
But curious about fork travel, I was aiming for 150, but see you have 160, does SC support 160? I do not live by a mountain, is 160 still better?

If you're not downhill focused, i'd probably stick with the 150mm, & yes SC does support 160mm, nearly everyone i know is running 160mm, but i haven't ridden a 150mm, i guess it would climb slightly better. I'm glad i went 160mm coz i'm still clipping the odd rock when pedalling! But going downhill, this things a beast. Bike spec is built up to take the roughest trails. I've heard of some brake rotor/hub combo not working, check that on earlier posts.

Ok, thanks, perhaps 160 anyway, not that hard to reduce to 150 if that will be the case.
As for brakes, was it just Hope that had issues? Guide RS will be just fine, and will save some money

It was mentioned on the first few pages of this forum, I'm sure they were Hopes that had frame rubbing issues, but double check. Guides are not an issue. I had same idea, try 160mm then reduce to 150mm if i didn't like it, but i'm sticking with 160mm

I'll go for Guide then, do you, at the top of your head have needed adaptors for 180 rotors? Otherwise I'll search

Here you go. Sorry these pics are so bad. Gives an idea anyway.
Looks very similar in color tone to what Kona uses. Will be interesting to see it in matte. Can't say I regret getting Wicklow. I think in the line-up of all 4 colors it's still my favorite. I really liked the blue on the Furtado the best.

Yeah, as I said earlier I wouldn't be bummed about having the 2018 colors. I'm a big fan of blue, but that's a little light for my tastes.

It also looks like it's not a reduced offset fork either. And based on how they usually post photos of the higher spec bikes, I'd say they are still using Fox based on the photo. But that's a lot of assuming off what we can see.

Some people, myself included, had issues with Hope floating rotors rubbing on the brake mounts. It's the rivets that do it so non-floating wouldn't be a problem. Don't spend retail on SRAM brakes, they aren't anything special. Go Hope, Magura, Formula, etc. Feel free to mix and match rotors

First ride on my HTLT at my local professional built trails as opposed to the local goat tracks. All I can say is wow. I thought riding the local xc techy stuff that it went pretty well, but getting onto smooth bike park flow trails with doubles and drops etc this thing is so far ahead of my old bike it’s unreal.
I’ve been on a 26” sworks stumpy since 2012 and have done a few demo rides on older 29” and newer 27.5” but none of them rode like the Hightower.
I was hitting gaps after tight corners I’ve never been able to generate enough speed from on the 26” and cleared them with ease.
On a fun descending segment my previous best times were around the 4:30-4:45 mark and that’s about 4 years worth of riding that trail. First run on the HT was 2:36
Climbing I also saw a bunch of PRs and that was before I locked out the dpx2.
So stoked on this machine!
