My RS revelation compression popped out during I was riding. I found out that I lost spring and bearing for (lock out) ?. do you know how many bearing and size that I need for my fork?.
Thank you
E

The bearings are metric.....3mm.

Talking with my local bearing supplier....they are very hard to come by. I sized up 1 SAE size and they fit fine.

It's ridiculous that RS wants $180 for a new RCT3 damper because of $.15 in parts.

mtnbikej,

Awesome! Thank you for that, I think I'm going to get my clicks back, just been counting spins lately haha.

For reference, did you go with 9/64" bearings?

Lol just realized I used this thread earlier, still haven't "fixed" the damper
I got 7/64" and 1/8" but don't remember which ones I used. The port in the the LSC rod is pretty big.

I made the same mistake as bcf811 and lost both the bearings and spring. I got the dimensions of the spring. OD 3.1 mm and free length is 6.1 mm

Or this might work

https://www.amazon.com/Compression-...572/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1481414743&sr=8-6&keywords=Compression+spring+6.1+mm
In my case the spring stayed intact in the center of the rod but both bearings were gone. The bearings from Amazon worked perfectly -- I have a few spares that can be mailed if anyone needs them.

RE: the suggested springs from Amazon. I purchased the stainless variety from the two suggesed links above. I found, however the spring did not compress enough to allow for installation. With the two bearings and sufficient force to fully compress the spring, the bearings poked out the sides of the low speed compression shaft preventing insertion into the RCT3 damper. I used a pair of wire snips and removed approx 2mm of the 6.1mm spring length and was then able to coax the two bearings/spring back into place. The LSC adjuster "click" is firm but rotates with a similar feel to the blue compression adjuster.

I suspect the optimal spring has either fewer coils or a thinner wire so that it can compress to a shorter length.

Like Chet, I'm happy to mail an extra spring to those in need via a private reply. I have nine more!

This old thread has invaluable information that saved me from a big headache tonight! Thanks to all that have contributed, specially Dr Wankel by providing the drawing. In my experience, you have to push this damper harder and/or at an angle compared to the RLT while inserting it into the stanchion. Both balls (only saw one before reviewing this thread; lucky I found the 2nd one afterwards) and spring ricocheted out while I was troubleshooting.

Golden information here; thanks again!

sorry to dig out an old thread but I am a bit confused.
I have 2 pairs of revelations. I know what models they are as I confirmed with rockshox the serial numbers.
2013 A2 RCT3
2016 A3 RL
So I went to swap the RCT3 damper into the RL model and this inner shaft popped out of the top after testing, throwing the bearings out.
I found them etc but im scared of it happening again so left the RL damper in for now.
The 2013 RCT3 forks I only bought because I wanted the damper to be fair!
Even if I assemble the blue and silver caps onto the damper and put the top screw in I can wiggle the shaft out of the top with the 2blue and silver adjusters... Is that normal or am I missing some kind of retaining nut/washer??
I believe I have the later model lower shaft in the 2016 RL's but is that now compatible with the older RCT3 damper which uses a different lower shaft? Is that the issue here?
I'd really like to do the RCT3 upgrade to the 2016 forks but all the info I have from 1st hand experience seems to contradict what I read on threads like this and im just confused.

Help needed from someone who knows these forks inside out.

I believe the nut you speak of to be in place but if you have a pic ill confirm that
after spending time looking alot further into this it looks like i am indeed missing a black retaining nut which goes on top of the blue knob but under the silver lsc knoc.

anyone know of somewhere i might get it?
a complete top knob set has it but its like ÂŁ25 and i literally need just the retaining nut
