Meant to post this yesterday.

The yellow trail is the Black Widow Flow trail. We're going to replace the old scar fall line with a serpentine style flow Trail. Corners will be reinforced with turfstone creating a sustainable and much better line than is there now. Ultimately the trail will add nearly quarter mile to the existing path. Can't do much until August because of Gnat Catcher nesting season but just you wait. This is gonna be fun!

Awesome!

I thought gnatcatcher season only restricted using gas powered equipment. Won't be able to do much in August except sweat excessively and breathe in dust as you try to break up cement hard dirt....

I forget what the brush is, but because it's directly where the bird nests no brush can be cut under federal law this time of year. I confirmed this with those City biologist and Ed yesterday. No biggie, we can still map stuff out get some ideas and start figuring things out. The August time frame will be initial brush-clearing and minimal Trail cutting. The idea is to have it all ready to go and all the Ducks lined up for the first rains of the year in November. Fingers crossed

I note that the redevelopment of Penasquitos Villages has been green lighted.

As housing density increases, that should provide funding for the planned (yet previously unfunded) community park to be situated along Carmel Mountain Road.

The inclusion of the trail off the south end of East Ridge was dependent upon there being a trailhead with parking (aka the park in question). Carmel Mountain Road is red curbed in the section where the existing social trail terminates
