I haven't been able to find any good pics of it.

Was it an NS Bikes 'Liar'?

Niner and Lance together does not compute. Odds are it's a Trek. I'm guessing it's an unreleasted/prototype Trek Procaliber. While it doesn't appear have the current looking decoupler, there is something going on in that area.
While he has thrown a leg over a variety of bikes, if he or someone has taken the time to custom paint a bike just for him or his team, it has to be Trek.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but your wish is a reality. We stuck a 27.5 (internal 30mm) wheel with a 2.8 Chupacabra (which really measures 2.65ish) in the back of a current Procaliber. No prob. 3mm clearance each side. Mud might be an issue and it won't take a 3.0, but it's technically plus capable.

Unless it's an old model, it doesn't look like it's a Pivot Les. In the picture, the rear brake looks like it runs through the downtube and is mounted in between the chain and seat stays. The Pivot rear brake runs through the top tube and then on the outside of the chainstay to a chainstay mounted brake.

Although I did not realize it at the time, Lance finished a few seconds behind me on one of my laps. No doubt, had we had another hundred feet to go, he would have flew by me. Nice note about the second place team, that is really cool.

As others have mentioned, there's a cable obviously run along the downtube, and a few pics make it clear there's mounts for it, no zip ties around the whole tube. Looking at the shape of the derailleur hanger end of the frame, and the contrasting protective bits behind the chainring, I'm back to the new Air 9 RDO.

After all, Niner lets Competitive Cyclist and Jenson blow out their 'old' bikes while your LBS still has 'em sitting on the shop floor, so why wouldn't they hook Lance up?

(love/hate relationship with Niner)

Why are we wasting so much time thinking and talking about Lance again?
