I don't get what you mean by wanting to pick up some cheap stuff.

I recommend Raging Isle, Bikeshop Hawaii, and IBT. Also Bikewerx in Mililani might be worth a look.
I haven't been in Bike Factory or EKI.
I do not recommend McCullys.
Shaka I suppose for downhill, freeride but not XC--

You will not really find any massive deals so I hope that's not what you're thinking.

I forgot to add, I'm a Brit living in Japan, so compared to the UK and Japan, the US is cheaper.

Lookin' for deals?

Hi guys, I'm coming to Oahu island for a vacation and I want to pick up some cheap stuff from State side. Can you recommend any good bike shops on Oahu island?
Thanks in advance.
Some of the bike shops mentioned in this thread happen to be THE most expensive on the island ( Barnsfield, ITB, The Bike Shop). Although they are full-service shops and for the most part, do good work, they are pretty pricey. By all means patronize the LBS's, it's great for the Cycling Community as a whole. Sounds like you want some great deals that you cant get back home. Check out McCully Bike, when they have sales, you can score parts cheap, including complete bikes.

the shops

depends what you are looking for

The Bike Shop-Specialized dealer, some Elite road bikes, lots of Mavic wheels mainly Specialized accessories

Bikefactory-Trek Dealer, also going big on Orbea road stuff now, big shop lots of bmx and cruiser stuff too

Raging Isle, half mtnbike, half cruiser, a touch of Jamis Road. Santa Cruz, Intense and others, lots of mtn components

McCulley Bike-Giant, Cannondale, Guru, mtn road and cruiser. Never really a complete line of everything but for odds and ends they are great. Watch some of the deals though as they might be bikes that are a few years old, still smoking deals but just be aware.

Island Triathlon and Bike (they sponsor me)-right by Waikiki, small shop, Bianchi, Cervelo, Kestrel, Litespeed, Merlin, Felt, pretty much only road stuff. If you want Zipp wheels or stuff like that this is the place but for mtn, not much going on, I special order all my stuff.

Fox Clothing

I think Bike Shop sells Fox. As does Shaka Bikes. Maybe Barnfield's Ragin' Isle as well.

Or..

See about ordering from Fox on-line and having it shipped to your hotel. Fox has a $25 "bend over" fee for shiping to Hawaii though...

Do any of the shops stock Fox Racing products? I'm mainly looking for clothes.
Not sure what kind of Fox clothing you want. All the motocycles MX shops sells Fox stuff. You won't find mtb shorts but you will find jerseys, armor, gloves, and mx type pants and shorts.

If you're lucky you might find some fox stuff on the discount racks in some bike shops. I've seen some fox stuff on the discount racks at Shaka bikes rack before. I've seen Oakley clothing at 30-50% off at McCully before.

Ragin Isle stock Fox gear and some of it is the same price as online so pretty good deals.

Shaka bikes & boards also carrys Fox gear.

I frequent The Bike Shop in Aiea and I dont think they are expensive. Maybe if you pay sticker price but they always give a discount and are very helpful.

Bike Factory is ok, decent selection, and has some skateboard, BMX, beach toys, etc.

IT&B Ive heard good things about, but its for roadies, blah.

I was there last night (visiting from Idaho). They had a Bianchi P.U.S.S. and another Bianchi SS whose name escapes my mind.

I was at the swap meet across from the Pearlridge Mall earlier today. We are bringing back way too much fruit and vegetables from there!!!

in ref that * bend over fee* anyone has that, because normally they would send UPS ground, well you plain cant to hawaii 2 day air is the slowest so its not really a bend over fee. Its called puttin it on a plane and flying it to ya vs on a truck and driving it.

UPS Ground shipping to Hawaii

UPS Ground service to Hawaii IS available. It's truck to the west coast and (obviously) air from there. Most companies are not aware of it being available, but it is. It's also a way to get things from Hawaii to the mainland at a lower, but not yet cheap, cost. I have a supplier in Florida that ships to me via UPS Ground, usually takes 5 business days.

i knew that UPS offered from hawaii back to use ground didnt know they did going there, cause when i tried to send my bike there recently from UPS it was 2 day or next day only. So i didnt take it. Just hung out with my parents and Sister while visiting.
