I'm curious to see elevation profiles of the bigger, more sustained trail, or mostly trail climbs in VT, NH, Me, and NY. I'm not a gps guy so if you have 'em, post 'em up. Who's got the longest most sustained trail climbs around? Love to see Carse, HTF, Richmond, Waitsfield, Adams Camp, Maple Run, Stab, Pittsfield, North Conway, Lake Placid Area. Here's my local thanks to JBP.

Lots of ups on this, but it isn't a typical single track day. First part of a 26+ mile day from near Green Mountain Trails over the spine of the greens on VAST and other assorted paths and into Silver Lake via Leicester Hollow...

That second peak there is somewhere before we got to here:

When we dropped down to (still high!) above Chittenden Reservoir.

Overall day was 26+ miles, 6400' up with 5900' down.

Was a great trip. But maybe not what you were looking for....

Be curious to see from the low spot at Gershmans behind the H.S. to the cabin up through trapps. I think one of the longest. Also Tony's to Peek a View for the Stowe area.
Zaab...what's the single longest climb in that network? Haven't ridden there yet but it's a steep and deep little valley.

I think the longest, sustained, single-track descent in VT goes to either Cochran's or Northfield (from the lean-to). No roads whatsoever. Waterbury might be close behind, but those descents are climby and I don't think it's as much very as it seems like.

I thought for sure the climb from the Bridge to the Cabin at Trapps was bigger. Thanks for that one. I like that ride starting at Iride heading to Hardy Haul on the way out, climbing Kimmers and hitting the cabin on the way back. Maybe the best legal ride in Stowe right now.

It's funny, people seem to think there's a lot of climbing on the trail from the Shelter (Hawk Watch) to the top of Orange here. It's only about 200 vert up vs 400 down....then orange is 900 down without a pedal stroke. I need to ride Richmond again. Anyone have the Carse side of HTF?

Hard to top riding up Lower & Upper J-Bar at Burke if you're looking for bragging rights in the northeast. 2,000' of gain, 15% average.

Of course, there's a nice Camptown > Toll Road climber's route sitting right there to the left, probably why it's not on most people's list. But it could be...

I think riding up J bar is potentially dangerous......

climber have right of way yes, but on trails like J bar if you are going even moderately fast no way you could slow down from 15+ mph to avoid someone. There are trails where 2 way traffic can happily exist and IMO J-bar upper or lower is not one of them.

Well, duh. Of course it's dangerous riding up a downhill trail. You think bragging rights come easy?

Luckily everyone will be over at Darling Hill and you'll have the whole trail to yourself.
