My Tourney derailleur on my Genesis GS29 lasted for a good two months of hard riding(hard because I am old and fat). When it kept throwing my chain off onto the spokes I decided to upgrade to a $16 Sunrace derailleur. Once I screwed all of the adjusters all of the way out it would actually shift. But, after a week and a half, it twisted out of joint so badly it would not shift at all, and constantly ground gears. The thing that I like about this derailleur is that I could easily twist it back to where it was-except the jockey gears do not line up, but it seems to work fine.
Which do you prefer?
Also-since I am posting about components on the wrong forum-I am also real happy with the Vitesse front fork on my bike. I hear it bang once in a while so I think it works. Really needs a new front fork-but I already invested nearly $200 into a $175 bike. Enough is enough.
