I have a Talon 27.5 5 and want to upgrade the fork. I've read here that the Manitou Marvel Comp is pretty popular. Would this upgrade work for my bike? Also thinking of upgrading the tires to Maxxis High Roller II in front and Maxxis Ardent in rear. Would those be good? Thanks!

Everything you listed would be a good upgrade for the bike. The Marvel Comp's are great for the price and fit right on.

Has anyone flipped their stem? What are your thoughts?

I have, but the bike has been on the trainer in the shop since I did it. At most, it levels it off, it doesn't angle down at all. It feels fine while spinning on the trainer but I'm looking forward to spring to test it out on the trails and see how it feels.

I run mine flipped but I was curious to hear other opinions. I'm considering flipping it back to see what feels best.

Hi everyone.
Has anyone here joined a race with their talon. Im giving mine a try this Feb 21 in the 7-eleven Trail 2016 here in Philippines. Well Im not aiming for the podium but hopefully I could finish the course before cut-off
Funny you ask because I've entered the RRR in Cairns in June!

It's a 70km 'race' ending on Port Douglas beach.

Yes! Pedals top of the list. and 20% off on day I get the bike.
An extra tube or two, etc. I am getting this and selling the Trek marlin 6 I bought in Jan this year... lol. My skill and endurance level don't really require the Talon, I just wanted it, hehe. Actually the Trek not as confidence inspiring like my Cannondale from 8 years ago. Still, mostly me, I have to admit. Just hope I can stay with it.. 58 yrs old and really need to improve my health big time.

nothing really...not at my skill level. Maybe I will like the Talon more just because the wheels are slight smaller...27.5 vs 29 thing. Will find out soon enough. With the Marlin still like new, I wont have to give it away, hopefully recoup some of the cost.
the talon 2 price range is my max for a bike, will say that. Other than that, i think it just came down to personal preference, a chevy vs ford thing lol. Plus the LBS is really good.
