My frame cracked on a 2013 Giant Trance 2 29er. My local bike shop called the Giant rep and they confirmed it is covered under the Giant lifetime warrantee. However, Giant told the shop that the Trance 29er is discontinued and they have no idea when or if a replacement frame would become available. The bike shop said it will be at least 3 months (there goes my summer ride season).
Does any shop guys or riders have a similar experience with Giant? They did offer $450 off the cost of a new Giant bike that would have to be purchased at the same shop. I was told that it was the "wholesale" price of the frame. But I paid "retail" price when I purchased the bike 18 months ago. Bike was $1,950 plus $164 tax.
What can I do?
