When I got this pump a couple weeks ago brand new the yellow locking lever on the hose head has been very very stiff and hard to rotate. I would put it on my valve and go to rotate it up to lock it on the valve and it flexes and bends badly as it is moving because it rotates with so much force. At first I wondered if it was designed to move that way cause it didn't feel like it was supposed to rotate up but the instructions showed that it did. I suspected this was either a crappy design which irritated me or I got a faulty pump. But since I have never handled a Joe Blo pump before I didn't know if this was normal. Common sense would tell me that it should cam over much smoother and with less resistance than it has. This morning I was adding sealant to both my tires. When I tried to lock the head onto my rear tire's presta valve, the unthinkable happened. The yellow lever snapped and the opposite reaction of that bent my presta core. Luckily I was able to straighten my core enough to make it seal and my wife ran the pump while I held the hose onto the valve and sealed the schrader side on the top with my thumb. I emailed Price Point and I hope they make it right by sending me a replacement head. Is this normal for these levers to work so hard?

which pump do you have? I have the Topeak Sport, which is going on 10 years, and hasn't caused me much grief. Put the proper side on, lever away, and pump away.

That said, that pumphead looks weird. Topeak makes 3 different dual-side heads for their pumps, all of which can be seen on their website (also available as replacements). None of them look like the one you are holding. Regardless, pricepoint should take care of you, as should Topeak if pricepoint falls through

They should send you a new pump head. I've had the same pump for 5 years and it's been flawless.
My sister has had the yellow one for about the same time frame without issue. And she rides every day either road or mountain. I've had the older chrome version of the Joe a Blow for 7 years without issue.

Have to say my Bontrager pump has been super reliable. I imagine you shouldn't have much trouble exchanging/warrantying that

So it took you 11 years to make your 2nd post. Do you have any other dormant user accounts we should be aware of?

And with an attitude like yours, he won't be back for another 11!

You really need to work on those people skills, young man. :D

I'd start with service support at the company.
USA Customer Service
And send them the link to this thread and let them know you will post their response. We are waiting with bated breaths.

For the record, I have one of these pumps and the performance has been flawless. Like someone else suggested, you may have gotten a lemon. Or a cheap Chinese knockoff. Is that redundant?

I've sent some emails both to price Point And to the company that built it. I didn't give him the link to this page but I did mention that I posted on this forum and I've got lots of replies. we will see what happens come tomorrow.

I have that pump as well, wasn't a fan of the lever initially but I haven't had any problems with it.
