Hey guys, my old shock on my Intense 951 is blown, and my mechanic doesn't think it's worth the cost to rebuild... So I'm perusing Pink Bike classifieds and here and have found a couple decent options <$200. The first is a take-off DHX RC2 that is practically new for $160. The other is the RC4 for $200, but used (ad says well maintained).
I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. The RC2 only has low speed compression, rebound, and bottom out via air pressure. The RC4 adds high speed compression adjustability and bottom out can be adjusted on the fly. Beyond that, I believe they're basically the same shock. I like that the RC2 is basically new and obviously a little cheaper. Is the RC4 worth the higher price and risk of buying used?
