I adjusted it to 140mm and it soaks up bumps and drops . it's certainly one of my favorite upgrades to tell people about because it's so cheap and does so much. Between its light weight, lack of maintenence, and price.. It'd pretty much a no brainer for a lot of people. Im not going to compare it to forks 3x it's price, but if you want something that does exactly what it should do, for a really good price.. Its definitely worth it.

I can directly compare the Epicon to a more expensive fork. I sold a Fox 32 float CTD and bought the nicer Epicon in 140mm with 15mm thru axle and low speed compression. In my experience the Epicon blows the Fox out of the water. Being a lighter weight rider (140lbs without gear), I could never get the Fox to perform worth a damn. I had to run lower pressure in it and that made it prone to some severe brake dive and it rode really low in the travel. If I upped the pressure at all, I wouldn't get all the travel and the fork rode harshly.

Enter the Epicon. Low speed compression eliminates brake dive and riding low in the travel, I can run proper sag and use all the travel, the fork is smooth, low-maintenance, and just simple to work on when you do have to service it. I've enjoyed it for the few months I've owned it.

This is really good to know. Granted my model doesn't have low speed compression. However the one that does it's nice to know it blows the Fox out of the water. I really enjoy my Epicon. For $200 it dropped 2lbs off my bike and made it ride a hell of a lot better. Thanks for the insight Owen.

I have to confirm that. Today I had my 1st ride on Epicon XC LOR 2014 120mm 15mm and it was amazing. Very sensitive. Previously I had XCM v3 and it was piece of sh*t. This version doesn't have Low speed compression but is still good.
Now I want full suspension :D totally must have

I bought a new warranty trek liquid frame with the fox rear talas and both together perform really well. I started riding more rough technical trails again and my shoulders and knees were feeling it. The new setup definitely helps. And combined I spent less than a new recon gold lol

I'm interested to know the long-term performance of the 2014 Epicons. An LBS said they've been getting quite a few complaints about the damping mechanism of the 2014s (she didn't elaborate), so the 2013s are selling better. OTOH, the sales girl was just probably trying to get rid of old stock :p
I'd very much appreciate an update to these posts in the next couple of months, as I'm considering getting this fork. Please indicate which exact fork you have (there are several versions).
TIA

Are the bushings replaceable and can you get seal kits for them? That would be my only concern. I had a look at a mates 1 year + XCMs that were leaking and had a hell of a lot of play in them - the bushings are definitely not replaceable in those. He ended up tossing them and got a clearance deal on some 2012 Reba's.
He was considering the Epicons but we couldn't find out how serviceable they are so went for the Rebas - a lot more expensive though.

I've had mine since May. My dampening works fine. I have the 9mm QR XC RL-R from China. It's worked great for me. Very smooth.
