Just ordered a new Kind Shock Eten Remote Seatpost
Anything I should know before installing this bad boy?
Is there anything to do for maintenance?

It's going to add 1.1 pound over my carbon seatpost, but the drop function is worth it to me.

Santa brought me one of these for Xmas and so far it's performed flawlessly (I'm 215lbs geared up), granted I've only had it on for a few weeks but no issues as of yet. I tend to wipe down the post after each ride due to AZ dust, other than that I don't see any other maintenance issues, YMMV.

I ordered one of these yesterday... this is my first dropper post so I'm looking forward to trying it out!

I was reading the install instructions and it says, "Apply a friction or anti-seize compound to the inside of the seat tube and inserted surface of the seatpost. Do not use grease."

Friction and anti-seize compounds sound like two different things with different purposes. What did you guys use on yours to install?

EDIT: Looks like this answer makes sense:

I had some stuff in my bike from the factory so I just wiped clean with alcohol and paper towels for 1 minute then dried it for 20 miss and the new post went in and stays put perfect.
Do not over tighten the seat post clamp or seat rail clamp.
I thought the directions said not to use anything, but I am wrong?
