Cannondale M1000 "magic gear"

Hi, I am building a 1992 Cannondale M1000 single speed, it presently has a 34-16 gearing with a DMR tensioner, I would ideally like to get the "magic gear" set up to enable me to do away with the tensioner. I cant afford to go buying endless combinations to get the right one, so wondered if any members have the same bike and found the ideal set up and could offer some advice?

Just measure your chain stay and use this.

Not right 100% of the time, but usually gives a good general ballpark figure. You can also hit up your local shop for an old cassette that you can take apart to try out different combos.
