Did it today, wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. The babyhead hill area was dry as a bone which was very surprising. The only really soupy are was on the south side by the picnic table where the trail splits, take the left one the right one is a mess and still icy in spots. Supposed to rain most of the week so thats going to put it back to a mess, to bad it was drying nicely.

Cmon guys ....let it dry properly .
We dont want to riding rutted up trails .
Get on the road or keep the trainers humming .
One of the reasons I got a road bike .....
So I could pound out miles while the trails dry out .

I would assume with all this rain it set it back 2-3 weeks, would need some pretty warm dry and windy weather to dry them up. It sucks I know, I guess I will have to secum to road riding UGGGG! I enjoy road riding like getting kicked in the yarbals.

Anyone been out lately? Still muddy as hell? Thinking about maybe hitting TP this weekend with the GF.

Trail is bone dry except one spot which is only 25 feet long on the North side just before the gravel pit double hill climb. Might be slick today though since London got a ton of rain last night.

Well I would have said yeah but after all this rain once again the trail will be a muddy mess, looks like its going to be a tough year on the drive train if this keeps up. Did Wildwood on Saturday and it was a muddy mess, had an awesome ride, dirty as hell but thats what this is all about HELL YEAH!

Winter update

South side is ridable to the Sugar bush, you can go a ways beyound that but where the trail spits off, north branch along the river to parking lot "old trail" and the one that leads up to the Dragons trail is waist deep in spots and a total hike a bke. I have not tried the north side as the trail is to far away from the dam parking and I don't think its heavily used but I could be wrong. The strech along the top of the hill by the golf course after the first hill climd with the wodden slats is a mess, it good past that point just walk it, its faster. I did make it to the first parking lot but the last 3/4 of a mile was tough going, alot of pushing the bike and knee deep snow. Once out of that mess took the road back to lakeside road and picked up the cottage trail again there and back to the dam.

This is Less Nessman reporting, back to you Johnny.

Well after last weeks wind storm most of the trails heading back to the sugar bush are under 2 feet of snow. It is possible to get there but alot of pushing your bike. If you make it to the picknic table just follow our tracks down the hill and out over the frozen lake, its much faster to get back this way. The wind did blow off most of the snow on the ice and its not bad to ride across now.

All this snow is gonna make for a really muddy Spring and therefore a late start to the season, areas like Monkey Wrench are gonna be a bog for quite a while I suspect...

Really hoping to get my money's worth out of a season pass this year, I bought one last year and after looking over my Strava stats I realized I only actually made it out to Fanshawe like 4 times (been primarily a roadie for the last couple of years).

You can always hit Turkey Point, it dries pretty fast on the south side being so much sand. Yeah I was out last Saturday and it was warm and a few spots were soft, even on the fatbike I sunk 2 inches down. Once it warms up permantly its going to be roads for a month or so till it dries up.
Don't forget your pass gets you into Wildwood as well, its 25 km and alot more climbing.
