I have ridden one for 1.5 years now and it is a wicked fun bike. It is a great compliment to a DH bike. I have hit 15 foot plus doubles and plenty of big drops with it and pedalled it up to the top after. I have ridden some DH style trails and its almost scary how much abuse this bike can take and how well it handles in stuff that most 6" travel bike get squirly on.
As mentioned, you will want/need a dropper post for it. I think it is one of the best pedalling bikes I have ever owned. I have cleaned sections of trail that I haven't even came close to on other bikes (like blur lt2, nomad 2, etc).
I honestly can't say enough about the bike. I am sadly going to sell mine because I had to sell my DH bike and need a larger travel do all bike for the road trips to places like winter park/keystone and and such. If I ever go back to 2 bikes again I could see myself looking for another distortion
In the end, if you can handle the little extra abuse on the rocky stuff (abuse as in tired legs from the short travel, not because the bike feels out of control in anyway) it will reward you with very good climbing and an extremely playful nature on the downhills.
