This one of the best trails I've ever been on. now after the main climb you get to ride through a nice meadow and ride until it rolls right (theres a deer trail that goes left and leads nowhere) and then its a fast rolling ST (tip when you see a rise and a fallen tree SLOW DOWN it cuts right really fast and you could go off the cliff)then you have about six SB and a BIG rock half pipe a nice place to stop and see who you left behind and theres two or three RG, its a blast to ride and the views are awesome so pack a camera with you if you can

ride it but don't get off until you get to a four way trail head. on the left is road to mars a steep and technical ST. To the right I don't know the name but its a steep and fun ST if you go strait you cand go to the 1906, top top of the mountain prospect and shafts etc pick up a South hills trail map for ten buck at any sporting good shop and look and see what you want to do

I frequent Moab, and this is still one of the best trails I have ridden. Not technical, but rolling and fast. Overall: really, really fun.

This trail is great in itself and also accesses many other side routes of sweeeeet singletrack. This is just part of 3 ridges and 2 gulches that are all interconnected and loopable.Very well maintained and rigid worthy.

Mt. Helena Ridge Trail begins 5 miles from downtown but you can S-T it all the way back to Mt. Helena City Park.

go down main to grizzly gulch road. past characol ovens , quarries, and homes . turn rt. at Y, left goes to unionville. go up grizzly gulch on DR 4 miles to Nelson gulch road (AKA park city???- i didn't see a sign) RT turn to t/o for TH in about 1/4 mi.

when in doubt keep RT.

TH is called Park City????? but can't miss it. this begins Mt.Helena Ridge Trail System wich is part of Helena NF. It is attached to but seperat from Mt Helena City Park trails to which is connects.

starts with challenging ST switchbacks which leads to other ST, and jeep trails. Passes thru meadows , ridges, and forests for 5+ miles back to Mt. Helena overlook. several side trails dropout back to Grizzly gulch road. If you ride all the way to Mt. Helena City Park Trails there are several different quick descents (1100' in 2 miles or less) to DT.

do it as a loop (+/- 12 miles) or O/B.

i ride from downtown and arrive back DT, tired but satisfied.

the climb is about 1100' but you do it gradually after initial swicthbacks.
