An easy, quick trail located right outside Wichita. Lots of twisty single track through trees with a few open areas. Some parts are fairly rooty, but nothing too crazy. It has a few creek crossings, bridges, and other fun features. The overall elevation change is very minimal.

This is a great trail to start out learning on. 95% of the trail is rideable by beginners. It doesn't have any huge, impossible climbs or death-defying descents. The faster you ride it, the more fun it is and doing multiple laps will give you a good work out. It's well maintained and very fun. If you're in the Wichita area, definitely check it out.

Customer Service

The trail runs backward a few days of the week, and there's a sign telling you which way to go on which days.

Kansas Singletrack Society recently added 1/2 a mile of new trail. This added some more twisty, tight, singletrack instead of the open meadow section. Parking is now directly to the east in the adjacent field. The trail is run backwards on T, TH, and Sat.

This is a good trail for the Wichita area, too bad there are not more like it. It is a fast, flat ride with a few technical spots. Anyone should be able to ride 2 laps with out a problem. This would also be a good trail to get teh kids started in to Mountain Biking.

Lots of tight twisting turns in between the trees with a few open "Meadow" blasts. There are several creek crossing and the trail management team has created little log bridges or concrete slabs for crossing these wet areas. I have to note that it was completely dry. The trail seems to be decently maintained. The trail is on private land, and I believe some work was recently done so in one spot it took me a bit to find where the trail went. Once I found the next section of trail it was smooth sailing from there. I am a new rider, however, I have ridden dirt-bikes all my life and I think some of those skills translate to mountain biking. The trail wasn't too tricky. I think there is something like 4.9 miles or so and I finished riding the trail in about 30 minutes. (I think I was cooking...no stops or step offs.) Definitely worth the trip if you need something to ride and you are in the Wichita area. I would put the trail on my to do list if I were to do a Kansas mountain bike trip with friends.

Since I am staying downtown, I took US-54 to South 127th street. Took a right and went down South 127th to East Pawnee Street, then on to South 143rd street.

This trail is a really fun ride. At first I took a few spills and i felt like I had never ridden before. It's a really good trail with a few sharp drops, all fairly small, and some creek crossings to watch out for. Overall a good trail with something in it for everybody.

This is a great trail for those who want to get off road and just go have fun on the bike. It's awesome for those who are in training for singletrack racing or for those who are simply trying to decide if they like the dirt.

There are no steep climbs (unless you ride the course backwards as we sometimes do) and there are no sketchy technicals.

The course is about 4.9 miles and is great for timing your laps to see how fast you can go between narrow tree gaps and small creek crossings.

The trail was built and is maintained by the Kansas Singletrack Society (KSS) and is on private property.

All of the usual trail warnings, caveats and etiquette apply... we also ask that if you ride the trail more than three times, you become a member of KSS. For more information, visit: http://www.kssingletrack.com/

Aerobic difficulty is based on the speed you decide to go. This is a great trail for picking your own pace.

Come in through the metal gate and park in the heart of the meadow. There is a satellite image on the web site, so just follow the arrows.

Wednesday afternoons there is a KSS group ride with riders beginning laps at staggered intervals. Just jump in and follow. :)
