Like the other reviewers state Pilcher has a variety of trails. I prefer the single track in the northwest corner. If you are looking to either extend your ride or for a nice warm up and a safer place to park. The Hadley Valley Forest Preserve is just North of Pilcher Park across Route 6. There is a big easy loop that connects to the Pilcher Park trails at the intersection of Route 6 and Farrell Road.

Customer Service

Park at the Gouger Road entrance to Hadley Valley Forest Preserve run once around the loop to warm up than down to Pilcher via the connection at Farrell road then both the upper trail and the outer loop are good. If you take the Valley Road trail watch out for the washed out culverts.

I ride the pilcher trails daily and they are a totaly blast. i usually spent around an hour and a half divided between the dirt trails and the paved sections. there are maps placed throughout the trails so its really easy to figure out where your going. there are a good amount of trees down, so if you cant bunnyhop consistanly you will spend alot of time gettin off and walking over them. Other than that there well kept and an awomse ride.

Weekend Warrior

Pilcher park has trails that can keep you going for close to two hours on a variety of terrain. There is a paved trail through the length of the park for a leisure ride surrounded by some nice single track with log jumping, stream crossings and terrain to get your heart pumping. There is lots of poison ivy in the area so stay on the trails, they are clear. There is a lot of ground to cover if you know the park and a side trip to the site of an Old French fort. This park is under utilized and under appreciated. If you like Palos, I highly recommend you check this out. e-mail me for more info.

Small but good for a quick ride after work or to beat the crowd at palos over the weekend. Never very crowded. More challenging towards the northwest end. Look out for the random hood rat toking up in the woods.

Customer Service

Come in on rt 30 and park by the creek on the right. Your car is safer than the east end. Don't park by the flowing well!
