A LOT of work has been done to this trail and it is a very enjoyable trail to ride. @ 1.5 miles long. It's actually in Lakeview Park off of McKinley Ave. There will be an additional @ 4 miles or so of trails open in the spring at the adjacent Woodyard Conservation Area, all around Lake Charleston.

The local mountain bike club and the City of Charleston have worked hard and have definite plans for this area to be excellent for mountain biking.

The trail is difficult to find and when you do find the trail it is very poorly maintained. There is trees down everywhere and many times the trail just straight disappears. At one point when I was riding down the trail there were signs posted saying it was private property.

With a couple of work days this trail could be usable.

Dog walking trail. I read the reviews here and went there to try it out but it is now gated off with a sign that says "no vehicles of any sort, foot trafic only" Usually im not one to abide by signs but i walked it for about a quarter mile and saw no reason to risk it. There were about a dozen people there walking their dogs. I was soooo disapointed I think we can take this trail off the list.

Customer Service

Trail is short, but has good steep climbs and technical sections.

Customer Service

Trail is short. Must ride figure 8's to piece together a ride.

Steep climbs and descents nothing else. Not much else to mention but its potential. This trail really needs some work. EIU students, like me, should really put together a collective effort to make somthing useful out of this terrain. Any takers can email me at [email protected]

Enter from near sanitation plant and go down cement service road. You will run right into it.

just turn left at the foot and ankle specialist and take the road all the way down to the "parking lot" deep ruts so be carefull with your car.
