Pequonnock River Valley - Trail, Trumbull, Connecticut

DESCRIPTION

The State-Owned recreation area is open to Mountain Bikers. There is one rail-trail, and on the east side of the river, there is a system of technical to semi-technical single and doubletrack. For a good fast workout, try to complete the railroad trail in under 10 minutes. For a more exciting ride, take the east trails and explore. Get lost, its fun!

This place is awesome. It has a little big of everything. There are tight single track runs, uphill, downhill, rocks, logs, you name it. There are some great ledges to jump as well. Be prepared have a serious workout, and bring water!

Customer Service

Park on the street before the indian ledge park entrance if you are a non-trumbull resident, and head in there. From there just get lost and find your way back!

This park is great for anyone from their beginners stage up to a professional level. Lotta technical stuff if thats wut u like. Plenty of singletrack. I always spend between 3-5 hours there. If u really want theres a trail that can get you up on the cliffs next to route 25. Great place to take a break if u need 1.

Customer Service

instead of parkin in the commutor parkin lot...continue down the road till u come to a light. Make a right...then make the second right going up the hill. u can park next to tall white building. The trailhead is on the left just down the road. Take the main path for about 2.5 mi and there should be a bridge on the right...once u get bak there have fun theres millions of trails.

I saw this redundant listing so I thought I'd piont out that the Trumbull River Valley, Pequanick River Valley, "The Valley", Trumbull, Indian Ledge, Old Mine Park and Twin Brooks Park are all the same place (basically...its several parks that are linked together).

See listing for Trumbull to get all the info.

Customer Service

this is the same area as the Trumbull River Valley. See that section for reviews and directions.

This place has to be one of the best places I've ridden. I have been working in CT for 3 months riding here 2-4 times a week, and still can not get enough of this place. The single track here kicks. If you go to the pines it is a mountain biker's playground with some logs and some nice 1'-2' drops with good landings. If you start to climb, the higher you go the more technical (and fun) the climb, and the descent. Watch for the drops there are some big ones, but they have good run outs for the most part.

Customer Service

if you're looking for technical single track go to the right in the field toward rt 25. if you are looking for fast single track go to the pine trees.

This trail is a lot of fun for beginners to more advanced riders. There are a lot of flat areas but a few short climbs to keep your heart pumping. Good run when you want to get some speed but don't feel like killing yourself. There are a few little rivers you have to ride across (only about a foot deep at the most, but a lot of fun, especially when your hot). Also a wavy slick rock section that I wish was longer. Almost impossible to get lost in there so don't worry, just stay on the trails and do the loop.

These trails are the best I have ridden in CT. There are trails for all ability levels from the rail trail to the single track. The water for the wet crossings can get high, so look for the bridge if you are going to the rail trail.
There are fast, technical, and semi-hard climbs here. The single track has several different loops wich are not marked so you need to explore. It is very easy to get turned around in here but if you can find the river and follow it you will find your way back to the car.
There are several drop offs, however if anyone has advise on how to do the one above the fields, let me know.

Customer Service

all of the single track from the parking lot off of rt25.
