I’ve ridden a lot of places in New England and this place rates average to below average. There are a handful of good trails, but the several hike-a-bike sections take away any positives in my book. Now I’m used to hike-a-bikes in Adventure Racing, but when I go somewhere to spin, I don’t want to get off the bike. If I lived in the area, I probably wouldn’t be so negative, but I drove an hour to ride here and was really disappointed. The technical trails are average to below average however there are a handful of cool drops and rollers. I wouldn’t make this a destination park, however as I mentioned above if you are in the area for some other reason, it’s a decent place to ride.

Trail system is extensive and offers a lot of technical riding.

Customer Service

Over 40 miles of singletrack with some steep drops. There is also a trailhead and larger parking lot on Rt 146 get there from the southwest corner of the green. I know people that travel from NY, VT and MA to ride here. Trail maps available at Trailblazer on the north side of the green.

My usual loop is south on White to the RR tracks, back on Orange. Last time I rode I took the Green-blazed trail west to the quarry, then back. Get a trail-map at Trailblazers on the Guilford Green. Its very, very detailed and a great help to riding here. The riding is great overall, with lots of technical sections. No huge climbs or descents, but very rolling. A great place to ride; be courteous to the other folks (hikers, horse-back riders, dogs, etc.) who use the trail.

Customer Service

White, Orange, Blue, or Green Trails. stay off yellow, Violet (unless you like walking and pushing your bike)

Great network of trails. Very well marked. Everything from windy singletrack to rocky steeps. In the summer the pond in the middle of the park STINKS. It gives off a low tide mud/sewage odor that's nasty. The trails are worth it though and not all of them are close enough to the pond to be effected.

Customer Service

I'm partial to the white loop. It has some very technical, almost trials type rocky descents.

Consider band-aids if unused to Eastcoast Hardcore. Be kind to hikers, other bikers, dogs, etc. as we in CT have an excellent relationship and good access throughout the state.

Customer Service

We like it all. White, orange, yellow, violet, and green all offer oustanding fast and/or technical terrain along the length. Drops galore if you're looking to play

Over the last two years I have probally ridden Westwoods 20+ times, and I never get board. I have ridden it in the summer, last year I rode Christmas day. Real technical in spots. There is one section on the Orange trail that I never cleaned. It is a downhill section that requires a leap of faith. One day after walking the bike down the section this guy, riding a Spooky Dark Horse, came down flying down, rode it clean. After that I new it was possible. I did not ride the section that day, but for a month I thought about it. The next time I was in Westwoods I went right to that section, studied the best line and went for it. I cleaned it the first time. Rode it 3 more times that day. Thanks to the man on the Spooky.

Enough of my ramblin. Westwoods is great, one of my favorite places to ride.

Customer Service

All are good. White to Blue switch to Viotet, then yellow and meet back with white. A rainbow of fun!

Very technical, great climbs. Several places where hiking is required. Trails are extremely well marked. I picked up a map and rode for two hours and was never lost. The trails seem to be used mostly for hiking. I ran into to many places where I had to hike which was discouraging. I am a very good techical rider and found the trail to be one of the toughest I've ridden. The trails can be much better once more riders use the trails and make workarounds for some of the unrideable sections.

Peddlers Road white trail down to Rte 46, Orange trail back.

If your sick of riding as fast as you can until you get back to your car and are looking for a very challenging trail, then this is for you. I have been to Vancuver,BC, Utah, and Colorado and still consider this to be one of the most technicle trail around. The down side is that you do have to hike the bike in some sections, but it an overall good time. It wll make you a much better rider. GO FOR IT SUCKAH!!

Customer Service

Until I master it, I like White then back on Orange. You should go to Trailblazers Shop for a map. Stay off the walking trail, its unridable, stay on white circle
