There are two trail systems in Tilden that are each nice 3-3.5 mile loops. Overall fairly easy, wide fire roads with a couple of more technical challenging downhills (or climbs depending on which way you start). Nice 15-60 minute juants depending how fast you climb. Nive views, but not very challenging on the bike, other than the steep climbs (or short descents) on either Sea View or the Quarry Trail. Customer Service park at the Lone Oak trailhead. Head east on Meadows Canyon, last short and steep ascent gets you to Curren. Bomb down the hill to Wildcat Gorge and sprint back to the trailhead ~ 3 miles.

It's a cross country haven... Wide fire roads with some fun downhills but nothing too technical. Beginner to intermediate level. Customer Service Climb from downtown to Volmeer Peak via Grizzly Peak Boulevard. Go down the Sea View trail, the take the hairpin left to the bigsprings. Ride through the quarry and then road to Inspiration Point. Then ride down the meadows, climb Wildcat Gorge, then down Wildcat Gorge. Climb the Meadows up, then ride Nimitz til paved becomes asphalt. Take the hairpin left and ride conlon. Turn left on Wildcat Canyon and decide if you want to do it again or ride Havey Canyon or that other trail towards El Sobrante... |

Saw this trail reviewed so decided to give it a go when I was up in the area. Beginner trails, wide fire roads, overall rather boring. It would be a good area to train for 24hr events, since you can rack up a ton of miles on dirt, with a good amount of climbing. But otherwise, talk to some local LBS and find some better trails if you really want to use your MTB. Customer Service I entered from Spruce St. and read the whole area (lots of miles with little excitement). |

The highlight of following this route is the challenging climb that keeps going up in difficulty, then the best view in tilden when it's done. Customer Service The first guy did it backwards! Similar Products Used: Pine Mountain Loop, Marin- similar difficulty, 2X distance |
