Clearwater Bay - Trail, Sai Kung, Asia And Pacific

Clearwater Bay - Trail, Sai Kung, Asia And Pacific

DESCRIPTION

Basically, an out and back trail with lots of uphill pushing, but don''t be put off because the effort is worth it. The trail resembles a chinese dragon - big ups followed by rapid descents on fast twisting single track with lots of switch backs and technical rock gardens. At the top, the trail undulates along a high ridge with spectacular views over the sea and islands off Sai Kung. All told, there are about 5 downhill runs on the way out, which takes about 45 minutes for a fit rider. You can either do the whole return route, which ends with a very fast downhill with sharp swithbacks, or drop down halfway - this trail is awesome - a continuous 5 minute, seat of the pants descent, which brings you out on Clearwater Bay Road , with a 10 minute road cycle back to the start. All told, it takes about 1 and a half hours with rests, which you''ll need, because its a real lung buster.
