Doi Thaen - Mae Jo - Trail, Chiang Mai, Asia And Pacific

DESCRIPTION

Fantastic single track winding through the forest, mildly undulating, no nasty surprises, a fast racing track with average level technical level throughout (no cruisy bits), so you need to be a little fit to really enjoy this one. Two variations produce a 5 & 7km loop.

The trail leads through dense jungle which can be a bit overgrown, especially at the beginning and especially in the rainy season. Wear long sleeves and eye protection. It's excellent for practice at an intermediate level. The small loop can be completed in 30 min - 1 hr. Don't veer off too far north, because there's jungle for miles and miles.

Customer Service

I am still looking for a connecting trail to Mae Kuang reservoir through the forest. If anyone knows... please post.

There's a whole network of singletrack trails southwest of the reservoir, most of them easy/flowy with occasional technical bits. Futhermore, when you cross the dam wall towards the forest and turn right you get to a large red dirt road that leads to two smaller reservoirs.
