Looking to build up a light weight hard tail for XC racing. I weight 155lb and don't ride too crazy. Saw the Stan's ZTR Podium MMX wheelset at 1230 grams and $950 they seemed fair for a wheel set that light. However they are currently out of stock with no eta. Is there any alternatives to that wheels set and still be around the same price point?

You can find various wheelsets built to Podium MMX rims elsewhere than directly from Stan's. We have some pretty good offers here in Europe. I bought my Alpine + DT 240s + Sapim CX Ray wheels from Actionsports.de. They have pretty good offers and the build quality is good. Shipping is about $55 to US. Also R2-bike.de has some quality wheels on stock.

A little off topic here, but how much does Actionsports.de charge to ship something smaller (such as a pair of tires) to the USA?
Subject: 40 euro fixed postage charge for 1x 120g funworks seatpost? >> unfair!
