ZTR FR Rims & Stans Yellow Tape?

There are a ton of tubeless threads. What I am hoping it to determine what most folks are using for rim strips if they are running tubeless. I have a new set of Stans ZTR Freeride rims that I would like to try tubeless. On www.notubes.com, it states that they cannot be run tubeless yet as there is not a 29" yellow tape available. So what are you guys using to run these rims tubeless?

Hmmm

Interesting, I've got the 355s with the yellow tape and works awesome. Using Maxxis with not even so much as a burp yet on home laced wheels. I wonder how the freeride rims differ in dimensions that makes it incompatible. All the tape has to do is cover the nipple holes. Have Stan ship you some yellow tape and try it.
Give them a call...

and post what they tell you. I wonder if the currently available yellow tape is not wide enought for the FR rims? If so seems you could double it up as a roll will do several rims. The yellow tape and valve stem work great on the olympic rim.
can't you get wider packing tape from office depot that'll work? I imagine that comes in different widths and people have luck using it on 26" wheels.

I just used two wraps (side by side) of the yellow tape, coupled with an old presta valve from a dead tube. Worked fine for one ride--til I tore a hole in the casing of the tire.

DIY tubeless just doesn't work around here...

Harumph.

I run tubes but, I fail to see how having a tube would help w/ a casing tear .....You are going to have to use a boot and tube of some sort to fix on the trail either way corect?

Tearing the casing rarely tears the tube. I've torn casings and ridden them for days without knowing it--when using tubes. Tear a casing using DIY tubeless and you have a flat, right now.
