I had one yesterday. One of those where you can't tell where you end and the bike begins. Where you find your self singing outloud and whooping and holloring for the shere joy of it. I hammered much much harder than I have ridden in months. Made every single technical spot. Out climbed my team mate who is really a better and stronger rider. Started to bail on the last loop but then headed out in the lead after a short breather. Flying over the bumps and through the trees. BAM!!!! Slight miscalculation clipping one grip on a tree then head first into another. OK that was why I WAS going to bail on the last loop. Too tired to be safe and fast. Luckily I only lost a little skin from a finger.

The ride was pure bliss. :D :D :D :D

Sounds great...

I had much the same experience this morning...for half of my ride. I've been tackling the front portion of a certain trail system for about 2 weeks (have been doing the back half for months). Until today I've fallen several times in various spots on the front section. Today I did it all. Sure I dabbed a few times and walked one hill I'm not going to be able climb anytime soon, but I dind't fall. I was thrilled with myself. It's an awesome feeling...so glad you shared yours with us.

Murphy's Law got me on the back half. A spot I ride fine all the time. KERBLAMM. Take a curve too fast, fishtail in some loose dirt, do some sort of funky sideways endo and slam my forearm and elbow into packed dirt and a nice Georgia pine root. Had to walk my way out, hurt too much to grip the handlebars.

It started out Zen...ended up has been!
