Wow, now that is one confused ad. First off, the Z1 SL weighs 4.6, not 5.6 (I know, I have one). Also, it has alu stanchions, not steel. Next, it should in no way cost $600 for an 04. That's crazy talk. You can get a new AM1 for that money. Go grab one off ebay for about $350. The pic they show isn't even the fork they are describing. Run away from that crap.

i am actually looking at buying this fork from a member on pinkbike or something. he claims he just bought this and will sell it for 250 shipped. should i get out of it?

$250 is a good price if it is in decent shape. Nice fork, but do a thorough search here for "z1 sl" and read up on people's thoughts. It can be a pretty hard fork to tune due to the behavior of the negative air spring. I like mine a lot, but my Z1 coil is nicer.
