Will we see the Slope bike ??? :skep: :p If so, I'm getting one. If not I'll still be on my Escape and X-7.

I just thinned the herd to 9 bikes for my wife, my son and myself. Usally run around 11-13 bikes for BMX, DJ, FR/DH and Road. People always come over to my house and ask why I have so many, the tone in their voice in a jealous/why/puzzled. I open the shop door and point to our cars. 97 Ford F 150 and 99 Sub OutBack both paid for. I point to their brand new car and tell them every month theres a bike and every 3-6 theres a really good bike.

I am riding a Flightline Comp now so I am set up pretty well. I have new V5 frame I'm building out for my wife and will probably put my son on an Escape something in the next year or so.

I have been thinking about adding a Haro road bike to the stable and have some questions regarding the frame geometry. I am 6'1", 185 lbs, w/ a 32-33" inseam. My MTB has a 18" frame w/ 23.4 top tube. The road bike w/ comparable TT measurments is a 22" frame. I am sure I can handle a 20" frame w/out issue, but the top tube-cockpit would be slightly more compact than my MTB. How do you sort out the differences and similarities?

Looks like it is going to be a Mary XC set up as a 1x9. Just got the crank/bb yesterday and a Reba fork this morning. Richie riser bar, stem, and headset are on the way. I am looking at SRAM X-9 derailleur/shifter combo. Have not yet decided on tires but will probably go w/ WTB wheels. Can't wait to get it finished and on the trail. My son is all over me to get his V5 build started, but he is still crashing and learning on his Cromoly 14" Boulder so he is the only one in our family not riding a Haro right now.

Just got my shift r3 today. I decided to give haro a shot because i used to ride their bmx about 13 years ago. I have to say that the bike is much nicer than what i had expected. i love it and would not hesitate getting another haro in the future.

X6 Haro

Here's my dilemma, I like the Haro X6 alot, and I like the Kona Dawg Deluxe too. Are the bomber forks better than the Fox forks on the Dawg? I would like to have a lockout on the rear shock, and I don't think either bike has one. I sure would appreciate any input, as I need to decide tommorow which bike to order. I've seen pictures of the X6 online with black rims and white rims too, I would prefer the black rims. The white ones will become brown very quickly after trailriding anyways. I would get 200 more dollars on trade in on my Diamondback if I bought the Kona. Thanks alot. :D

$3000 for the Kona versus $2200 for the Haro.

Is the Fox better than the Marz? in my opinion yes but look at the price difference. You could possibly upgrade the for a Fox the Haro through the dealer and still pay less for the bike.

Lock out is over rated most shocks do a excellent job of keeping the wheel planted on the trail for climbing traction. :)

I also prefer a coil shock for aggressive trails they are awesome at smoothing the stutter bumps and working the rough. :cornut:

The SP on the Haro is a much more universal suspension set up over the 4 bar Kona. I have a SP 5" bike that can be ridden just about any where from AM to pump track with confidence. My 4 bar almost 7" travel is what I bring out for the really rough stuff like DH trails.

If you want a do all bike the Haro is a better option. It may not look as fancy as the Kona with all the pivots and rockers but a good SP is a well rounded design. :cornut:

Thinking of an 09 X6 Expert, not sure about the white rims though. The white grips and stem look awful with a brown paint job. (imo)
Hillwilly, the white componets are just a fad for now, mostly by those who follow the hip hop nation. But notice how the youth are wearing tight/pegged pants in black ??? Ha maybe we can get some decent guitar players again someday ;)
