Was thinking the exact same thing last night. My favorite time of the year in AZ is Feb-March, when the desert comes alive.

I think we need more than a good soaking now to get a good wildflower season.
I remember hearing somewhere that rain in late fall/early winter is crucial to wildflower development. I think the rains also have to be more frequent than we have had lately.
Oh well, any coloring of the desert will be welcome.

We never get the right amount of water.

Too much water: Worst wildfire season due to too much fuel.

Too little water: Worst wildfire season ever due to dry fuel.

Krob, if you don't mind, where was your pic taken????
Yep, Mike's got it (Thanks for showing me around, Mike. That was a fun ride). Was it that long ago now? That was an amazing winter. Grass everywhere. Sheesh, time goes by tooooo fast.

(I thought that was Twisted Sister at Hawes?)

Twisted Sister is the singletrack up higher that takes you out to Wild Horse.

We had a great ride out at Hawes and Pass Mtn today. It's getting pretty green and fuzzy out there. Pass Mtn was in great shape.
I'll have to head back out there when the blooms start.
