Yeti 575 purchase?

I'm 99% sure I'm going to get the 08 frame from Jenson. i have all the parts needed in my "inventory" for me to build it up an X9/XT bike and have CK/819's i can swap from my current bike. the missing part is the fork, which will come later down the road (next month after the frame is paid ;) ). is there any reason i should hesitate picking up the 08 from Jenson? I'm not the need the latest and greatest as soon as its available kind of guy, but I've had the desire to build up a bike for a few years now and this seems like a good opportunity. any suggestions?

I have an '08 and it kicks ass. Go for it.
Someone can probably prove me wrong, but I don't think there were any major changes between the 08/09/10 575 models besides color options. Rides the same either way.
Find out what year RP23 is on the 08. Some have not liked the 08 RP23 say it is too soft in the middle of the travel. I have an 07 and 09 RP23 and do not have this issue.
I have an 08 575. Amazing bike. I did have 08 RS Revelation426 DualAir with 130mm of travel but a few months ago i got a Fox Float140 r 15qr and the bike is now even better. The Float just feels so much better!

If you run the Float rear shock at the recommended pressure for your weight it is super soft so i just pumped it up harder and now it feels spot on.

Go for it, you will love it!!
My 2008 575 (which came from Jenson) was equipped with a 2009 RP23.
fantastic...now I'm on a Lg Cannondale Prophet and it does feel a bit too big for me at times. I'm ~5'-9 and 210lbs on good days, I'd assume it would be wise to get the 575 in a Med.

thanks for the replies!!
i'm 5'-9.5" and just picked up a medium 575, feels perfect
I'm 5'10" and the Medium fits like a glove. The Large was just too big for me to feel comfortable on.
I just ordered an 08' 575 from Jenson. After 2 1/2 years on a MOJO and dealing with the last 6 months of a continuous and very loud 'creak' that could not be fixed, I decided to go back to aluminum. The MOJO was a great bike and the service is second to none. I look forward to the new 575 (great deal from Jenson). Any tips on set up? Anything I should know about? Thanks!

5'8" running a medium with 65mm stem.
I just received my '08 575 frame from Jenson last week and they installed the new '10 RP23 on the frame. Complete surprise. I have yet to acquire the rest of the components I need for my build, but couldn't pass up the deal. To echo previous posts, I too am pretty sure the only thing that has changed on the 575 from '08/'09/'10 is the color and shock.
what's the difference between an '08 and '10 RP23 and how do you tell the difference?

Ditto here - I picked up a large "turquiose" frame off Jenson a couple of weeks ago that is presumably an '08, but it came in the '09 team (white/turquiose) paint and what appears to be a 2010 RP23 (at least the Fox manual that came was marked as a 2010 manual.) Ordered a 2010 Talas 36 RC2 fork today. Now, if it were only spring so I could ride the durn thing.
i will tell you after dialing in the '10 rp23 i've been SUPER happy with the ride on and off the trails (preferrably on :D) but damn. Good stuff

@Earthpig- i rock the '10 talas 36rc2 fork and love it btw. ;) i ride at least every other day thanks to the amazing arizona weather. :) //g

The 2010 RP23 has Boost Valve printed on it, it also has a grey circle under the Fox logo.

Got my 08 from Jenson with the '10 shock, set up pretty much as manual instructions.

BTW, 5'10 on a medium, fits just right.
My Med Turqu/White frame came Tues, headset/Fox Float 140 installed last night and the weekend will be filled with assembling the rest.

I started thinking of buying it when Jenson had 14 left, bought it when they had 8 left and last i looked they have 3 left...glad i got mine!

Same as you, "Boost Valve" and 2010 Fox manual. Not sure if it's an 09 paint scheme, but i'm not worried about that.

I've got the same one coming. It should be here tomorrow. I ordered mine Mon. Looks like I cut it close. Now to figure out what fork I want. It's between Float RL and RLC. Can't decide if it's worth the extra for comp. adjustment.
