Can a Sram XX 11-36 work with two 9speed front rings?

sram does not make a 180 crank, and I would like to run one

Yes. Very very little difference in width. Just be extra detail oriented when adjusting front d of if using one. You may expect a little faster chain and ring wear, but thats a small price to pay for using what you want

can't you get the crank arms you like and put 10 speed rings on them? is it because of weird bcd or what?
