Hey

I was wondering if there is simple preventative maitenence that has to be done to XTR shifters? The reason I am asking is that last week I went on a ride and the thumb paddle stopped working for a min or two and then started up again. It was stuck. I have had other times where you click to shift and it moves but does not engage. The shifters are just over a year old. I did a search but came up with nada.

That´s somehow a "classic" problem when it gets cold.
The grease inside the racket mechanism gets thicker with cold. So the spring that has to push the pawl towards the teeth of the racket has not enough force to overcome the increased viscosity of the grease, and just passes along without catching a teeth.(look inside the shifters, you´ll see what I mean)
Spray some lighter grease.
