I am going to be building up a new bike and will be using XTR brake calipers. I'm building new wheels too so I have to decide if I want to use the centerlock rotors or standard 6 bolt rotors. Once you figure in the weights there is really no difference (hubs+rotors), is there a performance advantage to the centerlocks, are they less likely to warp, do they dissipate heat better, etc? BTW I will be using DT 240s hubs. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

If you are going with DT 240s then you have no choice but to use standard 6 bolt rotors if I'm not mistaken. The only way you can use the centerlock rotors is if you use Shimano hubs. It does seem like the centerlock system would have an advantage of a more positive and secure interface between the hub and rotor, but that's just my observation. How that translates to real world performance, I have no idea. I'm no engineer by any stretch of the imagination.

DT is one company that jumped on the centerlock bandwagon. The 240's are available in both 6 bolt and centerlock versions.

I would go with 6 bolt only cause theres more rotor options then shimanos 1 type they currently have. I'm using 6 bolt rotors with my XTR discs. Also its cheaper to get a replacement rotor for 6 bolt then finding a centerlock one.
