Well, im currently running my shimano brakes with sram rotors(doesnt work that bad to be honest) but i hate that shimano doesnt have a premium option for 6 bolt rotors so i can match my brakes. So i was thinking to buy some trickstuff rotor brakepads but it seems that will be out of stock like forever! So is there any other brand that makes something that works better than shimano? Galfer maybe? Have anyone tried them with the 9100?

What are you trying to do? Those XTR brakes do not have servo-wave and are not as powerful/hard-biting as say XT. So with that in mind, sintered pads tend to bite better and produce more power, resin are generally quieter and lower power, but don't eat the rotors as fast. Most of the time, XTR race/XC brakes come with the organic pads. If you are looking for more positive power, sintered could be a way to go, but it's also not going to bite down as hard as XT. A bigger rotor would help there. The biggest difference between pads though is sintered vs. organic. What are you running?

I’ve been using shimano metal pads in my m9100 brakes with xt rotors on my race hardtail. I feel like they work pretty well and feel pretty good as well.

I’m not sure I understand why you are wanting to use a different brand of brake pads because there isn’t an xtr 6 bolt rotor. You can use shimano pads with different rotors. Some cheaper rotors don’t take metal pads, but other than that you are pretty free to use whatever. I’ve used shimano brakes with sram rotors without any problems, a good rotor is a good rotor as far as I’m concerned.

What is the issue that you’re trying to correct? Or, what are you trying to accomplish?

Well, there is a good reason that there are resin pads in all xc brakes! When racing XC you need to brake hard and with a super good "accuracy" for like 10 important times and most of those times your brakes are cold! No time for warm up, if you loose a turn because of your cold brakes then is not so good! It's a no brainer with resins in the other hand, cold brake performs super good and more important, super stable!(except if you boil it in super long decent). In my case I'm super happy about the power of the new XTRs (the 9000 felt so weak compare to them). I was just thinking to find something to "match" the brakeset with something made to work together (pads/rotor combination) Well just throwing money in the bin more likely😂, but I'll need new rotors soon anyway!

Not any problem really, just thinking to get a rotor/pads that made to work together. I'll need rotors soon anyway!

Gotcha. Yeah, I race xc and the 50-100mi races, so I understand.

Yeah, I often use resin pads in the winter for that reason. The races I do in the summer have long and often technical descents, so the metal pads are a little nicer for that. I’ve had some bad brake fade in the past on those long steep descents, so I lean toward metal.

I do remember feeling disappointed that the m9100 brake pads were so little. I have the m9000’s on a different bike and thought they should have kept using those pads instead of the little road sized ones. That being said, once I got the brakes set up, they have performed well.
