XTM752 crank (2003 model i think) is being blown out at Jenson for $85, the ES-71 BB is $25. Would this be a worthy upgrade to my Race Face Evolve XC crankset. The RF has an external BB, not sure if this is a pro or con but I've heard good things about the Shimano spline set up. My RF chainrings feel flimsy. I'm having no problems as of yet but they are new still.

Should I get the 752 and save for a rainy day upgrade or am I just wasting money?

BTW i'm an agressive type xc/trail rider on a Yeti575

I like the older octo system. Super easy to install, no spacers and all that crap, and no widening of the crankarms. Plus, they are bombproof. Weight difference is not worth talking about. The stiffness factor is the only place the new outboard BBs beat the older Octo system.
