I need to replace a worn out LX 9 speed cassette. Is it worth the extra coin to buy an XT 760 over an LX 580 ? Is there a big difference in weight, performance, durability, etc?

If you want the weight savings I think so, (don't know how much it is).

According to Shimano, the LX is approx. 339g and the XT is approx. 264g. The only other difference shown is that the LX is also available in 11-34T, where as the XT is only 11-32.

So if you want to save 80g, spend the extra coin on the XT. Personally, I sweat off more weight than that, so its not an issue for me.

XT is avalible in either 11-32 or 11-34

11-32 = 264g approx
11-34=300g approx

You can save a little weight without having to drop XT bucks by going SRAM.
