I have an XT M8000 crankset. I'd like to swap the chainring out for a different one. Does anyone know offhand if I could do it without removing the crankset? Much like getting that sofa up the stairwell to a third-floor apartment, it looks like it might be possible...

It depends on the chain ring.
Some have larger cutouts than others.
Considering it takes 2 minutes to remove that crank.....
