I'm looking at getting a 2nd wheelset and was looking at using some XT Hubs - since they're so inexpensive for the quality they offer. I was wondering what would be a good, light wieght XC type rim to go with them? I was thinking MAVIC XC 717 or XC 819. Any other suggestions, will the 717's be strong enough for general XC riding and occasional drops/jumps (below 3ft)? I'd like a better wheelset and loose a bit of weight with this new set, I'll switch my semi-slicks to the wheelset ( MAVIC XM 117 rims and Formula disc hubs) that came with the Trance3 and use it for road /hill training.
