Just wondering how people are finding the new XT groupset as I'm setting up a new XC hardtail.

Are people finding any issues with shifting or the chainline?

Does it work o.k. in sandy/muddy conditions?

with twin rings up front, would i be able to reach all 10 sprockets on the rear from the one chainring (like XX)

I already have 3 x 9 xt on a full susser, so I want to know if performance will outweigh loss of compatibility

Haven't used the new XT but I have used the new XTR (triple not double) which is similar.

Shifting is really good. Chain line is the same as before.

Just make sure that you get the new front derailler too. Older front deraillers work but not well.

Yeah, the big point of the 2 ring setup is that it allows a larger cage on the FD, which opens up more gears at the back without rubbing or severe cross-chaining. Will you get all 10, not sure but probably (as on a 2x9 with 2-ring specific SLX FD)

Not sure about chain-line, I'll take LMN's word for it being the same. Q-factor should/could theoretically be reduced a bit though.

I am talking about the triple. Unfortunately the double isn't out yet.

They are going for a 2 ring set-up. Unfortunately the doubles are not available yet.
