I have an xce I have been trying to sell. I have both the XR and X Rockers. I was contemplating selling the XR Rockers seperate. Are they worth anything alone?

Figured if I could get something for the rockers I could drop the price of the xce so they both sell.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

I think plenty of the new Burner owners out there would be interested in a deal on some XR rockers....I paid $140 for new ones, so I am sure you could get some decent change for them....

Bought Used XR Rockers for $100

I bought a set of used XR rockers a couple of months ago on MTBR for $100. I thought that was a fair price given that the new ones are $140. The rockers are a big improvement on my Burner.

Good luck!

What about the value of an XCE

Thanks everyone it seems $100 is the magic number for the rockers. now my next questions what should a 2002 xce with a romic be worth. Typical scratches and I could either have sold it just with x rockers or with the xr rockers too.

I am also throwing in the v brake bosses. I am just curious. I have been trying to unload it for awhile and my original assessment seems to be to high.

If you're going to upgrade to another Turner I'd go for the trade in program and get a $600 credit toward the new frame. Sell the rockers and Romic separtely and you'll get another $200-250. That will be about half the price of the new frame & shock.

I just auctioned off a large 2002 XCE (very good condition) on Ebay and only got $450 for it. I did the same as you are thinking about; sold my XR rockers and 1.75" Vanilla separtely. Total haul after all was said and done was about $675. I had originally listed thi bike with the XR rockers, Vanilla shock and two extra Cane Creek air shocks with a starting bid of $700 and had no takers.

I didn't go with the trade in option because I managed to get a smokin' Ebay deal on an 2004 Spot ($900 with a Romic, XT cranks and a Salsa post clamp). Best $225 upgrade I ever made.

Could you please tell me what catagory XR rockers would be listed under on MTBR classifieds and Ebay. Can you be specific pertaining to the improvement to your Burner? I have an 04 with a Manitou spv 3 way I am still getting used to.

XR Rocker Improvement on '04 Burner

Sure. I also have an '04 Burner with a Swinger 3-way. I felt the rear of the bike was a bit harsh with the standard rockers. The XR rockers made it feel quite a bit more plush than I was expecting .4 inches would provide. I understand from other threads that this may be the result of a difference in leverage ratios going to a longer rocker.

Even with the rockers I noticed the bike still had a fair amount of kick back in the rear over bumps, even though it was now more plush. Just last week, however, I adjusted the Swinger to 4 clicks out from full slow and it made the back end feel great--none of that kickback going over rocks and roots.

Hope that helps!

First - they have sold. I got interest from a bunch of people.
I really enjoyed them and thought they were a great upgrade for the Burner. Unfortunately my frame cracked. Turner's taking care of me with a new front triangle from a current model so I didn't need the rockers any more. They really have been as good as advertised for service.

If you weigh less than 190-200 pounds and can get a set I really recommend them!
