I know many of you guys make trips up to the Navajo Lake/Brian Head/Red Canyon areas to ride, but here are a couple things you might not have thought about.

Sorta redeveloping some forest trails in the Sevier Plateau (the mountains North of Red Canyon):

Big weekend route around the whole NL/BH/RC area. Just have someone to follow and set up camp!

Also, check out something I've got going in Eastern AZ.

I really don't ride the Vegas trails much.
Tend to mostly wander around AZ and UT.

Explore and Enjoy!

I would love to do the Dixie Lite run but I really don't have the rig or gear for it. The newer trails look like they're coming along nicely, I'm hoping to get back up there in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for posting

You've got all the bike you need to do the course.

As for the gear and packs, don't think about it as a self-supported race. You've got the track file, just get a crew to ride it and 1 or more folks who wouldn't mind doing support, doing their own thing during the day and meeting at the camping location in the late afternoon! A lot of big rides out there that could be done like that.

Makes it much easier when you don't have that extra 15-20lbs of gear to get up the mtn.

rule #2

Rule of the dixielite ride

2. No pre-arranged support with one exception: teams of any number of riders are allowed. The rules apply to the team as a unit; the finishing time of the team is that of the last member to finish.

But here's the thing: I wasn't talking about someone going up in June and racing or even doing the course whenever as an ITT.

I'm just saying get a crew, go up and ride it (or any other endurance/backcountry course for which you have the route data) with something of a support crew to make a good time for those (could even be you) who might be miserable living on the trail for a couple-few days!

It's just a route, and if you're not making a race of it, make whatever you want of it. Just get out and ride! And the Dixie Lite is a damn nice course to ride!
