Im planning on building up a transitionbike gran mal( see www.transitionbikes.com) for specs and I and it has a 83 mm bottom bracket shell.I know the shimano Siant front deraileur works this size and Im just wandering if the sram Xgen does as well. As far as I am aware it needs to work with a 5705 mm chain line as the frame has a 150mm rear dropout. please correct me if im wrong. Thanks

Unless you're putting on an e type f/d (and as far as I can tell, the X-gen is not offered as an e-type) then the bb size is of no consequence. The answer is yes, it will work.

Perhaps I misunderstood your question. If so, could you expand upon the question?
