Im going to replace my wheelset soon and am looking at two options. My riding is typicaly XC, single track maybe bordering on AM. Both have Deore hubs, on set laced to Rhyno lite rims, the other to WTB Dual Duty FR rims. Which ones?

Neither IMHO...

those two wheel sets weigh a TON! And for XC/Trail and light AM they are overkill unless you weight 250lbs and tend to bash into every obstical on the trail! I mean the Deore/Ryno light set is gonna tip the scales at 2370 grams!!! The Dual Duty hoops with Deore hubs won't be far behind that, if not a bit porkier!

I know that these two wheelsets can be had at a VERY small price when compared to many. But the weight of them make for a wheel that's going to be an energy drain for XC riding. Unless you are a heavy weight, ride very agressively, or just tend to trash wheels, I'd suggest stretching your budget a bit and finding something with a more XC oriented (read lighter) rim. I mean just substituting say an Mavic XC 717 rim on either wheel set will save you close to 200g per wheel at the point that it will do the most good, at the outer edge of the wheel! Granted it'll cost you a bit more, but be well worth it. The wheels you are considering are primarily for Free Ride not XC or AM. If you aren't hard on wheels or don't do big drops, jumps etc., it would be well worth the extra cost.

Your choice of course. If you are dead set on one of these two sets, then I'd suggest going with the Ryno Lite set. They'll be a tad lighter but just as strong.

Cane Creek zonos are going for about $255 on Ebay. They are about 1900 grams and should be plenty tough for XC/AM riding. They are definitely a good quality wheelset.

for something cheaper, I would go with BWW.....as suggested above.
